Reviews and Ratings
The room wasn't super fancy, but nice and spacious. It was on the parking lot side away from the highway, making it very quiet. While there was a mix-up with the initial room assignment, the staff promptly arranged an alternative room at another Hawthorne Suites at no additional cost to us.
My stay at the hotel was comfortable overall, but there were some drawbacks. The rooms, although comfortable after changing twice due to heavy cigarette smoke smell, were a good base for my visit near the Sears Center. However, the service was lacking, with staff not very friendly or readily available when needed. The location was convenient for my three-day conference, close to shopping, shows, and restaurants, but the room had some maintenance issues. The dining experience was satisfactory but could have offered more variety. Overall, the hotel provided a decent stay considering the price.
I found this hotel to be well-equipped for accommodating guests with wheelchairs and offered all the facilities one might need for an extended stay. While the rooms could get a bit warm once you leave them, they were not visibly dirty but had some dust floating in the air. The service was overall very nice and proactive, although there was an unfortunate incident of being overcharged due to a technical error. The location was convenient for my needs, but the temperature adjustment to 80 degrees and some odd covering on the building were a bit off-putting. The dining experience was satisfactory, with a decent continental breakfast provided. The hotel offers grocery shopping and laundry services. It's a moderately priced option considering the area, with some small quirks like salty bagels with only strawberry cream cheese.
